This fishing pier is located just of SC Highway 274. Fishing spots are located on the pier as well as places along the bank. Two boat ramps are available.
Buster Boyd Landing
Located next to T-Bones restaurant right across the bridge, Buster Boyd Landing is the biggest landing area on the lake. Fishing tackle, food and convenience stores are all within walking distance to the water.
Carowinds Amusement Park
The thrill capital of the Southeast. With full accomodations and campground nearby, the park includes rollercoasters, numerous other rides, a waterpark, dining, shopping and shows for the family. Open year round.
Adjacent to the McDowell Nature Preserve the island offers bank and pier fishing, trails, picnicking and camping. Visitors may also reserve the picnic shelter for day-use or rent the entire "island" for overnight group camping.
Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden
A year round 380 acre garden with natural surrounding areas. It's a place of ever-changing beauty that you can stroll through daily. As well as educational programs and other activities, its one of the best wedding settings in the region.
There are 69 tent and RV campsites each with water and sewer hook-ups. Shelters and picnic tables are available all with separate grills.The park has a swimming area with lifeguards on duty. Snacks and drinks are available.
McDowell Nature Preserve
Located just off of 49, the preserve consists of 1,115 acres of terrai. There are 7 miles of trails, picnic areas, playgrounds as well as a 56-Site campground and pavillion. The waterfront deck is great for fishing.
Nivens Creek Access Area
Located just north of the dam. Nivens Creek offers a public access ramp and plenty of shoreline for fishing.
